Bournemouth University “Digital Day”

Bournemouth University “Digital Day”

For businesses keen to learn how to grow using the latest digital tools, Bournemouth University’s ‘Digital Hub’ is hosting a free daytime interactive event on July 19th 2011 between 9am and 3.30pm at Kimmeridge House, Talbot Campus.

With the objective to provide unbiased and truly informative advice the event will be attended by Tiffany St James, the social technologist, digital strategist, trainer and international speaker who advises government and industry. As a graduate of Bournemouth University herself, she was pleased to be invited to assist in the launch of the Digital Hub and share her invaluable knowledge with regional businesses.

Bournemouth University’s ‘Digital Hub’ has been created as a central source for knowledge in the latest digital concepts relevant to business, allowing organisations regionally, nationally and globally to benefit from the University’s expertise in the world of creative and digital technologies.

The day has been developed to enable businesses with digital challenges to openly seek help and advice. Specialist areas such as cloud computing, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and eye tracking will be explained in an objective way with a view to dispel the biased confusion that many ‘sales messages’ can create.

Dr Philip Alford, lead of the Digital Hub team says; “We are excited that Tiffany has agreed to share with us her vast experience. For many years she has aligned corporate objectives, people skills and evolving technology to embed practical digital strategy for change and growth. She will give businesses a real taste of what they should be implementing and cut through a lot of the potential confusion.”

Attendance to the Digital Day is free and open to all businesses. Register interest, find out more information on the Digital Hub or email thedigitalhub@bournemouth.ac.uk. Alternatively call the team on 01202 963027.
